Can you grow potatoes without getting dirty? Walter learns a new potato-growing technique from Terry DelValle: using a tub full of perlite as a sparkling clean tater garden. Speaking of edible plants, fig is one of the easiest to grow fruits. Walter shows how to transplant one of the root sprouts that inevitably pop up under a mature bush. Hank Bruno describes an Asian dogwood that grows in the upper South and blooms beautifully in May. Then, Dr. Paul Thomas shares his discovery of the best way to get butterfly weed seed to germinate. He says it involves “patting” the seed!
